The Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI) is a platform for improving social standards in a global value creation chain.
BSCI-certified companies are committed to following a code of conduct that helps them set up an ethical supply chain. Particular emphasis is placed on management practice, working times, remuneration, child labor, forced labor, freedom of association and collective bargaining, discrimination, working conditions, health and social facilities, occupational safety, environmental protection and special protection for young employees.
By signing the BSCI code of conduct, companies commit themselves to recognizing the social criteria upon which the code of conduct is based and implementing suitable measures for meeting and complying with these criteria within the scope of their corporate policy.
To ensure that the certified companies implement the BSCI code of conduct in their supply chains, it is regularly checked that they comply with certain criteria.
